CF Moto 450 MT

Want to improve your CF Moto 450 MT suspension? Upgrade with Moto SR Suspension

Welcome to Moto SR Suspension. Your adventure bike suspension specialists. How is the CF Moto 450 MT KYB suspension? The general consensus is the stock suspension is not so bad. After riding it, we agree. Its not terrible, quite ridable. But can it be better? Absolutely!

We’ve been riding, testing & developing the 450 MT after a customer dropped his bike into us at Moto SR for improvements. Our customer had just returned from a 7000km south island NZ trip . The owner, 80 kg, vet adv rider. His main complaint was the rear, ‘Can you make it better?’

Customer feedback re stock suspension was

-Front acceptable

-Rear ok, could be better

After another small test ride, our immediate feeling was> The suspension rides in the stroke (feels like sits on a step), feels firm, lack’s progression. The bike just sits there then boom, compresses firmly. The suspension has a very dead feeling.

Moto SR has been inside the stock suspension. Yes it’s KYB suspension, BUT. This is basic, cheap KYB. You only have to look at the KYB fork stickers to confirm this. This is not the market leading KYB components you see on a Yamaha dirt bike.

Development is on going. CF Moto still can’t tell us what spring rates they’ve fitted to their bike! But this is where we’re at as of today.

After testing different  shock settings (valving upgrades). We’ve now improved the rear shock NIGHT & DAY.

Now > Shock WAAY better. Holds up in the stroke, doesn’t blow through on bumps big or small. WAAY better traction. Shock now pushes the tyre into the ground and stays connected to the ground. The bike now feels playful, lighter and nimble. The shock is so much plusher!!! Absolute night and day. Watch this space for customer confirmation, and more development for the shock and the forks.
